Tortilla Soup Recipe
Tortilla soup is a chicken soup variety served with tortillas. There are claims that this soup originated from the southwest as a way to use old tortillas. It might be true, but I will attest that this does not taste like any old tortilla at all. In fact, this soup is very flavorful and fresh tasting.
Chicken and Corn Soup
Chicken and Corn soup is a simple yet nutritious soup recipe that requires boneless chicken and shredded corn kernels.
This is an easy to follow budget friendly recipe that you will surely love. I like this soup because the main ingredients are readily available anywhere — no matter which part of the world you are in. Aside from that, I think that the flavor and consistency of this soup is fantastic.
I used boneless chicken breasts for this recipe. However, you can always use bone-in chicken. All you need to do is boil the chicken for 20 minutes, and then manually separate the meat from the bones. Use the remaining liquid as chicken stock.
Sinampalukang Manok Recipe
Sinampalukang Manok is a sour soup dish composed of chicken , vegetables, and tamarind leaves. This chicken soup recipe is similar to Sinigang. The only difference is the use of tamarind leaves.
Some people say that Sinampalukang Manok is just another sinigang recipe. I agree in a way. However, I think that there are still some noticeable differences that gives both dishes their own identities.
Sinampalukang Manok is best eaten with warm steamed rice. I usually eat this with a dip composed of fish sauce and crushed bird’s eye chili. I personally think that Sinampalukang Manok makes me feel better. Every time I catch cold or feel weak, a bowl of Sinampalukang Manok is all I needed to get back on track.
Chicken Binakol
Chicken Binakol is a delicious chicken soup dish. It is similar to Chicken Tinola, although the use of of coconut meat and coconut water makes this dish unique.
Traditional methods of cooking Chicken Binakol requires native chicken simmered for several hours. The meat of native chicken is tougher than regular dressed chicken, but it has more flavor. Simmering native chicken longer makes the meat tender and releases all the flavors.
Sarah’s Creamy Chicken Macaroni Soup
Our well-loved Sopas and it may not be in a restaurant menu, but at home, this tops in soup requests. It is super pinoy soup and yumm!
Chicken Sopas Recipe
Chicken Sopas is a soup dish filled with diced or shredded boneless chicken meat and elbow macaroni noodles. This chicken soup is a common breakfast or snack food among Filipino families particularly during the rainy season. Since this is a family favorite, most Filipino families have their own treasured Chicken Sopas recipe. I’m guessing that some recipes might even be passed from generation to generation.
The difference of Chicken Sopas from other traditional chicken soups is the use of milk. Fresh or even evaporated milk is added to the soup along with the chicken and different vegetables for a richer flavor. The addition of other meats such as diced hotdogs or luncheon meat in some recipes can also be considered as one of the factors that make this soup dish different from the traditional ones. I, for one, have tried almost all the versions of this dish (I even tried one recipe that makes use of chicken liver) and they were all great.
This particular recipe is one of the simplest recipes that I tried. I shot the video during our 3 day camping adventure at Indiana Dunes. In order to save some time and avoid a lot of mess, I used diced boneless chicken meat and chicken broth rather than deriving stock by boiling bone-in chicken. The taste is pretty much the same but you can save more money if you do it the traditional way: boiling bone-in chicken to make chicken stock and manually removing the meat from the bones.
By the way, the noodles and vegetables may vary depending on the recipe. Feel free to use the appropriate vegetables that you desire.
Can I also request you to share your way of making Chicken Sopas for the benefit of everyone? I am excited to learn from you.
Chicken Noodle Soup Recipe
Chicken Noodle Soup is a popular soup that is believed to have anti-inflammatory effects that can temporarily relieve illness. This soup is simply made-up of chicken meat, chicken stock or broth, wide egg noodles, vegetables, and spices.
There are several ways to prepare this soup dish. One of the earliest methods makes use of a whole dressed chicken. The chicken is boiled in several cups of water to extract juices that will make-up the broth. Bones are then removed from the boiled chicken while the meat is chopped to attain a uniform size and placed back in the cooking pot for further cooking. The method that we’ll be using here is more practical than the conventional style because this will save you more time and effort. Instead of starting from scratch, chopped deboned chicken and pre-packed chicken stock will be used; this saves time in boiling and deboning.
I enjoy having Chicken Noodle Soup during cold weather: it makes me feel warm and somewhat relieves the stress that builds up from a whole days work. After finishing a bowl of this healing soup, I always feel relaxed and recharged.

Molo Soup
Molo Soup or Pancit Molo is a soup dish composed of a mixture of ground pork wrapped in wonton wrapper, shredded chicken meat, and shrimps. This dish resembles the Chinese wonton soup but the array of ingredients and flavor makes this dish stand out. After doing some research, I found out that this dish originated from a famous town in Iloilo, Philippines called “Molo” (yes, you guessed it right). But why call it Pancit (or Pansit) when there are no noodles in the dish? I too have the same question. Maybe our Ilonggo friends can help us out on this one.
I like my Molo soup topped with some minced green onions and lots of toasted garlic : I even put a teaspoon of fresh lemon or calamansi juice . This is one of the soups that I enjoy having during the cold months because it does not only make me feel warm ; it also brings out some childhood memories back home that are worth reminiscing.
This recipe is good for 20 people. We actually made this for a potluck party with our Filipino friends. Just use half or a quarter of the measurements depending on the number of people that you will share this with.
