Air Fryer Buffalo Wings

These Air Fryer Buffalo Wings come out juicy inside with crisp skin, then tossed in a simple sauce of melted butter and Frank's RedHot. You skip the deep fryer and the pot of oil, and they are ready in about half an hour. I serve mine with ranch dressing, carrots, and celery for game day.

Equipment

  • 1 Air fryer For cooking the wings
  • 1 Microwave-Safe Bowl or Saucepan For melting the butter and sauce
  • 1 Large bowl For tossing the wings in the sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 5 Tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup Frank's RedHot sauce

Instructions

  • Divide the wings into 3 parts. Separate the drumette from the wingette, then cut off the wingtip and set it aside. Note: we will only be using the two big parts.
    2 lbs chicken wings
  • Pat the wings dry with a paper towel and arrange them in a single layer inside an air fryer. Air fry one side for 12 minutes at 350°F, then turn them over and do the same with the other side. Check that the thickest part reads 165°F before saucing.

Notes

Make ahead – Melt the butter and hot sauce together in advance, then rewarm and toss the wings right before serving.
Use a rack – If your air fryer came with a rack, use it so the hot air can move around every wing.
Doubling – Work in batches when you double this so the basket is never crowded and the skin still crisps.
