How to Enjoy Broccoli Safely While Taking Blood Thinners
If you're on blood-thinning medications like warfarin (Coumadin) or other anticoagulants, monitor your intake of vitamin K-rich foods such as broccoli. You don’t need to avoid broccoli entirely, but consuming it in moderation can help maintain steady vitamin K levels.
Generally, limiting your intake to about 1 cup of broccoli florets per day can help prevent significant fluctuations in vitamin K levels. However, changes in vitamin K intake might affect the effectiveness of your medications. Always consult your healthcare provider for personalized advice on managing your diet while on blood thinners.
