Cabbage and Weight Loss

You all know what cabbage is, I’m sure. It might be introduced to you through popular dishes such as coleslaw, sauerkraut, or kimchi.

While we enjoy eating cabbage through our favorite dishes (mine are chopsuey and pansit, by the way), are you aware that this vegetable has more to offer other than vitamins and nutrients?

There are more than 100 varieties of cabbage. Generally, almost all varieties are rich in vitamin C . Known varieties such as bok choy and savoy are good sources of calcium and are known to be cancer fighting foods because of their anti oxidant content.This is, without a doubt, a healthy food that you can always serve your family.

Do you want to lose weight? Are you one of those who tried to exercise more and eating less, but still can’t reach their weight loss goal?

Don’t fret. There is always a solution to every problem. Personally, I believe in exercise as an effective means of weight loss. It gets rid of fat by burning calories. However, it cannot solve your weight loss problem alone, especially if you are depriving yourself from necessary nutrients that your body needs while trying to lose weight. Exercise and proper diet is essential to attain your goal.

Proper diet means eating the right portion of appropriate types of food on the proper time. Sounds complicated? I don’t think so. All you need to do is choose foods that are low in cholesterol and calories but high in vitamins and fiber, and eat reasonable portions in the right time. Combine this with exercise and you are on your way to a leaner you.

How to Lose Weight by Eating More Food

The problem of most people who want to lose weight is the deep desire to lose weight fast. This often leads to unworkable diet goals that deprive themselves from the foods that they enjoy. With this kind of mentality, most people often go back to their usual habits in a matter of a few weeks – gaining more weight instead of losing it.

Weight Loss does not necessarily mean cutting-down on food completely to burn body fats. Did you know that the few pounds you lost from your “lose weight fast” program might be coming from your muscles? Muscles have a large impact when it comes to losing weight. If you are not aware about this, let me emphasize that your muscle is responsible in burning more than 50 percent of fat in your body.

The main key in losing weight is to eat more food. However, some of the foods that you need to eat might not be the usual food in your regular diet. I am talking about healthy foods that are high in fiber and low in fat.

You have several choices when it comes to the food that you need to eat. Foods that are low in fat, high in fiber and high in water content are the ones that you should be eating.
