Hi banjo. Which is better-to boil the tahong first or after cleaning bake put the ingredients and bake directly?
Vanjo Merano says
Loida, boiling is not necessary as it takes out the flavors from the mussel. I suggest to bake directly after cleaning. You can also grill it if you like.

Hi there! What if quickmelt cheese is not available? Can I use the mozarella cheese instead? Hoping to hear from you coz I wanna prepare this for my sons bday. Thanks and God Bless!
Vanjo Merano says
While Mozzarella cheese melts quickly, I don’t think that it is a good substitute because it lacks flavor. I really recommend the use of quickmelt cheese such as Velveeta.

Hi Joanne, this might be late but I hope that it still matters. I clean the mussels by washing it in running water. I also brush the shell. It is also debeared (I remove the beard-like part).
Yes, once the mussel is clean, just top with the rest of the ingredients and bake.
