Is it possible to lose 10 pounds in 7 days just because of cabbage soup diet? Sounds too good to be true, right? Truth is, this diet can really help you achieve the figure that you want if the proper procedure is followed.

Cabbage Soup Diet Lose up to 10 Pounds in 7 Days

In a nutshell, the cabbage soup diet involves replacing meals with this vegetable that is the primary ingredient in making the soup (see Cabbage Soup Recipe). There is no limit to the amount of soup that you can eat within a day but other food should not be taken along with it. There are specific foods that you can eat on a particular day but the plan has to be followed strictly to be able to lose weight effectively.

The cabbage soup diet should be done for seven days. This is enough time for you to take those extra pounds off your body. However, it is recommended to take a break before repeating the cycle. This should not be used as a long term meal plan. During the diet, the amount of nutrition that your body could get is limited. So, it is necessary to take time off before starting another seven days of dieting.

How the Cabbage Soup Diet Work

Here is a meal plan that should be done within seven days. After the cycle, you will notice significant drop off your weight.

Day 1: Consume as much soup as your heart desires. You can only eat fruits during the day but not banana. Banana has high sugar content which could hinder your weight loss. For drinks, it is best to rely only on water but you can also have black coffee, cranberry juice or tea without milk, sugar or honey.

Day 2: You can also have as much soup until you feel satisfied. This day, you should focus only on vegetables. No fruits should be eaten.

Day 3: The soup should also satisfy your hunger. On this day, you would be allowed to consume both fruits and vegetables.

Day 4: Have as much soup as you want. This day is quite generous to you because you can consume until 8 bananas. You can also drink skim milk to stabilize your digestive system.

Day 5: By this day, you are probably longing for some meat already. The soup should still fill your hunger but you can also have 10 to 20 ounces of beef, fish or chicken. It is important to monitor the amount of water you drink because you need to consume 6 to 8 glasses within the day.

Day 6: You can only take the soup once during this day. For the other meals, have beef steaks and fresh salads. You can indulge on different vegetables that you want

Day 7: The soup will be taken just once. This is the day to enjoy eating more vegetables and brown rice. You can take fruit juice so long as it is unsweetened.

Yes, you would need determination and discipline when going through the entire week on cabbage soup diet. If you are really determined to lose some weight, this could really help you out.

Hi there. I think this is quite a calorie-restricted diet that has a high tendency to backfire on the dieter. Permanent weight loss for general fitness and health is really not something that can be achieved in a short period of time. It’s better to eat well and exercise regularly so that the body gets used to its new dimensions and weight. I’m not saying this won’t work, but coming from someone who has been on the heavy side (105 kilos) and back (86 kilos), the body really needs time to adjust to new eating habits, etc. The problem also with this type of diet is that the body will lose both fat and muscle at the same time (like the Twinkie diet, lemon juice diet, etc.). This type of diet will not be able to support any exercise regimen at all because there is little or no usable protein. There is some sugar, which can be used for exercise but the muscles will be depleted in the process, from my experience when I tried weights + cardio while on a calorie-restricted diet. My 2 cents sir. Mabuhay po! 🙂

Thanks Mj. Your point makes sense. Were just laying down all the information. It is up to our readers if they are willing to take the risk or decide on a more healthier approach which is to lose weight slowly.
