Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Chocolate chip cookie still remains to be one of the most popular cookies to date. This cookie variety needs no introduction. Because of its popularity, almost everyone knows about it. However, I think that this Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe that we have here needs a little unveiling.

You can find tens or hundreds of Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe in the internet and in many cookbooks. Each recipe has a distinguishing characteristic that make it stand out. After trying most of the recipes out there, I came up with a single recipe that has the characteristics that I like: simple, delicious, and comforting. This is even be better with a cold glass of milk.

Lengua de Gato

Lengua de Gato are long thin cookies that resembles the shape of a cat’s tongue. This might be the reason why these tasty treats were called such.

This is one of my favorite holiday treats. They usually come in plastic jars similar to the packaging of the commercialized Peanut Brittle. Whenever I receive one for Christmas, all I do is make myself a cup of coffee and just like magic – the contents of the jar are all gone.

Sugar Cookie Recipe

I am proud to present to you this special recipe post on Sugar Cookies. This is a simple cookie recipe but what makes this special are the people involved in putting the pieces together – my kids.

Just so you know, I am currently taking a special course in cake decorating. My kids love to watch me while I design cakes and cookies. I taught them the basics of icing a cake; they learn fast and were able to design and bake their own cookies after a few tries.

After a couple of days of practice, both my kids approached me and asked if they can make their own video on Sugar Cookies. Of course, I said “sure, by all means”; but they have one request though: they want to do everything by themselves from the presentation of ingredients until the arrangement of the final product. They also shot the video without my help (I went inside the room after presenting the episode and let them do their thing).

The result was fantastic. I was surprised to see good looking (and good tasting) cookies after several minutes. Since this was their first time shooting a baking video, I can say that the presentation was not bad at all. If you have some clarifications on the steps, you can always refer to the detailed recipe post in text format below.

Happy baking everyone!

Oatmeal Cookies Recipe

While thinking of something to have for a late afternoon snack, Oatmeal Cookies eventually crossed my mind. I knew that I still have the ingredients and time is not a big factor because it only takes less than 30 minutes for me to enjoy one.

This cookie recipe taste just right – that’s what I like about it. It has the right amount of sweetness and you can taste the sudden explosion of the cinnamon on your fist bite. I also like the soft texture because it makes this cookie chewy and more enjoyable.

I was able to make 9 large pieces of perfect oatmeal cookies with this recipe. I scooped 1/4 cup of mixture for every cookie. If you prefer average sized cookies, try scooping a heaping tablespoon; this can yield approximately 14 to 16 pieces.

Before I wrap this up, allow me to give some pointers: It is normal for the cookies to become soft after baking – do not over bake. Simply remove the cookies from the oven and wait for a few minutes until it cools down. Place the cookie in a cooling grid or wire rack only if the texture is hard enough. Removing soft cookies from the tray might tear them apart. Lastly, having a hot cup of coffee, milk or chocolate by your side is not a bad idea.

Try this delicious Oatmeal Cookie recipe and let me know what you think.
