Leche Puto or Puto Flan is a combination of Leche Flan and Puto. This is a type of dessert, as far as I am concerned because it is sweet and tastes like a native version of custard cake. I liked it a lot, but I had to control myself because it is so rich and sweet.

Leche Puto Recipe Panlasang Pinoy

This version is made of creamy leche flan, which is really a combination of egg yolks and condensed milk. The puto or steamed bun balances the flavor. I made the puto using the puto cheese recipe less the cheese. I wanted this to be easy and quick, so I made sure that ingredients are not too many and the procedure is not complicated. I think that I was able to achieve my plan.

We will be having this leche puto as a dessert for new year’s eve dinner along with cassava cake. We will also be having lechon belly, steamed lobster and king crab legs, seafood paella, and lengua in white mushroom sauce. This is a day celebration to welcome the new year. Kain po tayo.

hello, I want to ask when making the leche flan, can i add some fruit juice or bits? for example, i want to add strawberry for a twisted flavor. I’m very curious. I might use this for our product presentation.

What is the cooking time if unmake then in mini muffin tins instead? I have a puto recipe that takes 10 minutes in mini muffins tins. Would I still have to cook it for 30 mins or so?

Hello. If I bake instead of steaming, will that work too? If yes, what should the temp and how long?

Good question. I believe not, since puto should be steamed. Although, the leche flan can be cooked by baking.

This is a good question. I think that it depends on your preference. I like mine cold.

    Hi Vanjo,

Did you purposely remove the fresh or evaporated milk from the above leche flan recipe? Your other leche flan recipe requires a cup of fresh or evaporated milk. I wanted to be sure before I make the leche puto recipe.

    Thanks and Happy New Year!

Sol, thanks for asking. The flan in this recipe do not need evaporated milk and sugar. This makes it richer and creamier. It will taste a bit sweeter though, but the puto on top will balance the sweetness.
