Orange Chicken

July 4, 2009 by Panlasang Pinoy

orangevideo

Orange Chicken is a dish of American-Chinese origin. There are claims that this recipe originally came from Hunan (a province in china) and was modified when brought here in North America for the purpose of adapting to the American palate.

In my opinion, Panda Express makes the best Orange Chicken. Though it is a fast food chain, most of their dishes are far better than the one’s served in restaurants.

This is not the original Panda Express recipe but rather a regular variation similar to the one’s served in Chinese buffets ( just added green onions to make it more appealing). I also minimized the ingredients to make this a budget friendly recipe fit for those who want to practice a frugal way of living. I will try to make our future recipes as budget friendly as possible so please stay tuned.

Happy 4th of July everyone!!!

Please tell me what you think. Your comments are greatly appreciated.

Try this delicious Orange Chicken recipe.

  13. Gelene says:

kuya, thank you po! I saw your videos in Youtube and this website really helps with the measurements of ingredients. Im a new housewife that really doesnt know anything about cooking i mean literally and the measurements really help. Hopefully I can get to that level where I can just toss in the ingredients and measure by just looking. Thanks for your effort, you really saved my marriage! Im down to the point where my inlaws were being to critical expecially of my cooking and I cooked this recipe, and they thought I bought an already made one. It’s okay if they dont believe me, but deep inside I felt a sense of accomplishment for myself! Now my foreigner husband cant wait to go home after a day’s work! You saved me from an impending divorce.

Hello Kuya. pwede oyster sauce gamitin instead soy sauce? Maraming Salamt :-)

  17. margie says:

I tried it once pero medyo di ko nagustuhan but then again iba-iba naman ang preferences natin kaya its not bad to try.

      • cathy says:

hi kuya! ok lang po ba instead of deep fry i-bake ang chicken after breading para mas healthy? Thanks po sa mga recipes nyo.

      • Haven’t tried that yet Cathy but you can always experiment. Give us some feedback if it is not so much to ask. Thanks.

      • miaw73 says:

      • leanne says:
