Happy New Year 2017 New Year's Eve Dinner Panlasang Pinoy

We prepared six dishes for New Year’s Eve Dinner and two more for dessert. This was a collective effort from all the members of the family, including my 4-year-old Danika who helped prepare the cassava cake. We had seafood paella. This is the same dish that we make for the past few years. My wife, Dey, has become an expert in making it. We also had some seared scallops in herbed butter sauce. It was really good. The lengua in white mushroom sauce was melt-in-your-mouth tender, while the lechon belly was as tasty and crispy as how I planned it to be. We also had steamed lobsters and baked king crab legs in lemon butter sauce. Aside from the cassava cake, there was leche puto too. It was sitting in the fridge when I took this picture. There were also fresh fruits for all to enjoy.

The meal was good. We are very thankful for having such a wonderful meal to share. However, the presence of all the members of the family partaking the food is the most important thing of all. This is what makes my New Year’s Eve Dinner complete.

Thank you for letting me in your kitchen. I hope to be a blessing to others and inspire more people to learn how to cook and prepare delicious dishes for their families.

Happy New Year!
