How to Cook Chicken Wings on Stovetop

Learning how to cook chicken wings on your stovetop is one of the simplest, yet most effective techniques to getting tender, crispy meat. To do this, you will need:

Chicken Wings Recipes

  • 1 lb. chicken wings
  • Seasoning of your choice (salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, etc)
  • 3-4 tablespoons cooking oil, preferably olive oil
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • Chicken wing sauce of your choice

Step 1:

Prep your chicken wings defrosting in cool water and cutting off the tips. Separate the drumetts from the flat for Buffalo wings.

Step 2:

Fill a pot with water and bring to the boil over medium-high heat. Lay chicken wings on a steamer rack and make sure they fit without touching. Place the rack over the boiling water and cover. Steam chicken for 10 minutes.

Step 3:

Remove chicken wings from steamer and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, chili powder or any choice of herbs and spices.

Step 4:

Heat the oil in a pan and add the chicken wings. Sauté until brown and golden, and remove from the pan. Set aside.

Step 5:

Add sauce and butter into the same pan, stirring to melt and combine. Toss the chicken wings in the sauce and cook until it thickens and wings are coated well. Serve.

How to Cook Chicken Wings in the Oven

Many prefer baked chicken wings because they contain less fats and calories. You can use the same ingredients as above.

Step 1:

Preheat the oven to 400F and prepare your chicken wings as instructed above.

Step 2:

Combine butter and your choice of sauce in a pan and heat until the butter melts. You can also add your blend of herbs and spices. Remove from heat and add chicken wings, coating them with the sauce.

Step 3:

Brush a baking tray with the olive oil and place the wings next to each other in a single layer. Bake until for 40-45 minutes or until brown and crispy.

How to Cook Chicken Wings on the Grill

Step 1:

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Make sure wings are defrosted.

Step 2:

Warm up your sauce with butter in a pan. When butter melts, remove the sauce from heat and set aside.

Step 3:
