This pancit na malufet recipe truly lives up to its name –– malupet! When I’m going to a potluck or a big get together, this dish is a go to, as it’s not only incredibly delicious but super filling. All the vegetables in pancit na malufet mix together harmoniously. And when you pair it with the succulent and scrumptious lechon kawali? You’re in for the bite of a lifetime!
The noodles we’re using for this pancit recipe are bihon. Long, thin, and clear, these noodles absorb the many different flavors of your pancit na malufet easily. But you’re free to choose another type of noodle for this pancit! One of the best things about this recipe is that there is something that should work for everyone. If the people you’re dining with prefer canton or sotanghon, then don’t hesitate to use those too! The result will still be worthwhile and extremely delicious.
Apart from pork belly or liempo and lechon kawali, Chinese sausages are the other protein we make use of in this pancit na malufet. The very distinct taste of this sausage is a welcome change and adds to the many layers of these flavorful noodles. I highly recommend adding this to your dishes for that extra delightful bite!
How to Cook Pancit na Malufet
Let’s cook this awesome pancit recipe together! You’ll notice that there are a lot of ingredients in this pancit na malufet. But don’t worry –– this recipe is actually perfect for those who are on the go and need to prepare things in a rush. In just a few minutes, you’ll be able to serve this to a bunch of starving relatives and satisfy their hunger with a hearty and delicious dish for all.
You may, however, need to set aside some of those minutes preparing all of your pancit’s ingredients. I wasn’t exaggerating when I said this meal was filled to the brim with an assortment of vegetables and meat. Carrots, snap peas, and cabbages all make an appearance in this Filipino favorite. For meat, you have your liempo, lechon kawali, Chinese sausages, and, if you feel like it, dried shrimp. You’ll need to prepare your lechon kawali and chop it earlier, as it will be the last topping you use for this recipe.
As for the other ingredients: Boil and slice 8 ounces of pork belly. Chop your cabbages, onions, and garlic as well. You’ll need to do the same for half a cup of parsley. Slice your three pieces of Chinese sausages, and Julienne 1 ½ cups of carrots, too.
To start cooking your pancit, heat 4 tablespoons of oil in a cooking pot. Sauté your onion and garlic pieces, letting your onion soften. Since we’re making this dish in a hurry, you can add your Chinese sausages and pork belly at the same time. Sauté this for 3 more minutes, then pour in soy sauce and water. Bring your mixture to a boil, then add in 2 pieces of Knorr Pork Cube. Stir your pancit sauce together and let it cook for about a minute.
Add in 24 ounces of bihon noodles, then cover the pot. Let your pancit cook on its own until the noodles start softening. Pour in half a cup of oyster sauce, too, for that extra flavor. Toss your pancit around until you’ve distributed all the ingredients well.
If you’re choosing to add dried shrimp to your noodles, now is the time! Pour them in alongside your vegetables: cabbage, snap peas, and carrots. Toss them together and cook for about 7 minutes. Season with ground black pepper to taste and more soy sauce if you want a slightly saucier meal. The additional soy sauce will also help with more flavor if necessary.
When your noodles have reached a doneness you’re satisfied with, transfer your pancit to a serving tray and top it with the lechon kawali you prepared beforehand. Serve it with calamansi or lime after for that extra zest and flavor!

- 24 ounces bihon
- 2 pieces Knorr Pork Cube
- 8 ounces pork belly boiled and sliced
- 1 lb. lechon kawali
- 4 tablespoons cooking oil
- 1/4 cup dried shrimp optional
- 1 1/2 cups carrot Julienne
- 1 lb. snap peas
- 1 piece cabbage chopped
- 2 pieces onion chopped
- 1 head garlic chopped
- 3 pieces Chinese sausage sliced
- 1/2 cup oyster sauce
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 11.5 cups water
- 1/2 cup parsley chopped
- Ground black pepper to taste
- Heat oil in a cooking pot. Saute onion and garlic until the onion softens.
- Add pork belly and sausage. Saute for 3 minutes.
- Pour soy sauce and water. Let boil.
- Add Knorr Pork cube. Stir and cook for 1 minute.
- Add bihon noodles. Cover the pot and then continue cooking until the noodles starts to soften.
- Add oyster sauce. Toss until all ingredients are well distributed.
- Put-in dried shrimp, cabbage, snap peas, carrot. Toss. Cook for 7 minutes.
- Season with ground black pepper and soy sauce if needed.
- Arrange in a serving tray and top with chopped lechon kawali.
- Serve with sliced lime or calamansi. Share and enjoy!
