How to Make Pork Chao Fan
Pork Chao Fan is an incredibly easy dish to make. Like many other fried rice dishes, this recipe consists of tossing rice and ingredients together until all flavors have been fully absorbed. This combination of textures is what truly sets this tasty dish apart.
Like with any recipe, you must first prepare all the ingredients for your pork chao fan. Chop your carrots and green onions, and mince an onion, too. 2 eggs must be beaten and whisked, as well. Other ingredients include your ground pork or grilled pork belly, leftover rice, green peas, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil.
Let’s cook this delightful pork chao fan together! In a wok, heat 5 tablespoons of cooking oil and add in your beaten eggs. Fry your eggs, fully cooking them like they’re scrambled eggs, then set them aside once done.
With the remaining cooking oil, sauté your minced onion pieces until they soften, then add in your ground pork! Cook while stirring until your pork turns medium brown. Afterwards, pour in all the sauces of your pork chao fan: your hoisin sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Then, stir them together, incorporating them well.
Your carrots and leftover rice go into the wok next. Stir fry your pork chao fan for two minutes, tossing until you’ve fully mixed all your ingredients. Lastly, take the chopped fried egg pieces and add them into your pork chao fan, seasoning the dish with salt and ground white pepper to taste.
