I know that when it comes to cravings for some golden, crisp fried chicken, our first instinct often is to just get takeout. After all, it’s quick and convenient. But you can’t miss out on the satisfaction of putting your chef’s hat on to create some delicious homemade chicken. And besides, when you order in, you’re not able to make sure that you’ve sprinkled in the perfect amount of seasonings for your taste. Have a go with this Butter Garlic Fried Chicken!

Butter garlic fried chicken recipe

Butter Garlic Fried Chicken

A great deal of restaurants already sell their own delicious Garlic Fried Chicken. After all, the mix of a garlic-y flavor with the light, somewhat neutral taste of chicken has been proven time and time again as a powerful combination. This recipe uses that element to its advantage, while making the chicken even more tender and irresistible with a lovely buttery taste!

What does butter garlic fried chicken taste like?

I always like my fried chicken to be unbelievably juicy and crunchy, and so you can expect the same from this recipe. We also use a whole lot of garlic to cook the fried chicken, and make sure it absorbs the light spice and saltiness that comes from the ingredient.

As for our other spices, a bit of black pepper, parsley and salt can do wonders in providing a wholesome taste to the white meat. These work harmoniously with the buttery chicken to create the perfect crunchy dish. We’ve got a couple of other components that sing in harmony with the chicken. These are also essential to achieving that terrific crisp!

Ingredients in Butter Garlic Fried Chicken

Chicken

Now this is definitely one you can’t go without for this recipe— 1 whole chicken. This dish is perfect for the family as we’ve got every part of the chicken in play. To make sure you’re getting the most out of your money in buying this ingredient, definitely opt for the plumper chicken with a nice pinkish color.

Garlic

This is yet another essential ingredient as we will actually be using it in two forms— both for garlic oil and toasted garlic. We will be mixing the prior with our cooking oil to fry our chicken beautifully. As for the toasted garlic, this is an essential part of the dish as we will be topping the chicken with it. Get 2 heads for the dish, and go ahead and chop these up.

Egg

Also grab 1 egg, which we need to get ingredients sticking to the chicken for a nice, crispy coating.

Knorr Liquid Seasoning

Always remember about your Knorr Liquid Seasoning, which we will need to marinate the chicken nicely. Only 2 tablespoons is necessary to make that happen.

Ground black pepper

Of course, we will also want just a bit of a kick to fully form the flavor of this Butter Garlic Fried Chicken. That’s why we also have to set aside 1 teaspoon of Ground Black Pepper. But If you prefer more of that earthy taste, you could also add more to your preference.

Fresh milk

A perfect match, milk and fried chicken just always seem to go together. I particularly love how the prior ingredient can provide a bit more tenderness to the meat. You will need just 1 tablespoon of fresh milk for the recipe.

Water

Also have 1 tablespoon of water ready as we will need this for our butter mixture, or the delicious sauce coating we will need for our crispy treat.

Unsalted butter

Also prepare ½ cup of unsalted butter, which we will need to melt in a pan. Make sure to use the variety that is not unsalted as this fits the flavor of our butter mixture better.

Parsley

Some herbs will also come in handy for crafting this dish, specifically parsley! This is perfect for a subtle addition in taste, which can have a bit of a peppery flavor, and can make the butter-based coating taste a bit more refreshing. Grab 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley for this dish.

Cooking oil

As I mentioned earlier, we will also be using cooking oil for frying. Take 3 cups for this recipe.

Salt

And last, but most definitely not least is some salt. There isn’t a specific amount that we will need for the recipe as that will depend on you! Should you like your chicken on the saltier side, feel free to prepare more. Just like our ground black pepper, this will be used for the butter mixture.

How to Make Butter Garlic Fried Chicken

Preparing the chicken

Spatchcock the chicken – So we will need to split the chicken open with either some scissors or a knife. Put Knorr Liquid Seasoning all over the chicken, and you could also use some ground black pepper for this.

Marinating – Let this stay for a good 30 minutes.

Cooking the garlic

Mixing oil and garlic – Put 1 cup of cooking oil, and your garlic in a small pot. Then cook this using low heat until the garlic becomes a golden brown shade.

Filtering the garlic – Use a kitchen strainer for this, and then just set the toasted garlic aside. Also keep the oil left for later use.

Coating the chicken

Once the marinating process is up, you can dredge your chicken in flour, and coat it entirely with this. Wait for 10 minutes so that our flour stays intact.

Heating the oil – As we wait, we can go ahead, and pour our garlic oil and 2 cups of cooking oil into a pot. Heat this up until it reaches 325 °F.

Frying the chicken

Deep-frying – You can put your chicken in the pot as well, and deep-fry this for about 13 to 16 minutes.

Creating the butter mixture for coating

Melting butter – Get your butter, and place it in your saucepan for melting. Then you can add salt, ground black pepper and parsley. Turn off the heat, and incorporate just a bit of water.

Adding the mixture to the chicken – Now you can just spoon the butter mixture onto the chicken. Top this off with your toasted garlic.
