Hardinera (Jardinera) Recipe

Hardinera Recipe

Hardinera is a famous meatloaf dish that originated in Quezon Province. This is considered as a special dish and is often served only in special occasions such as town fiestas and other important gatherings.

Some say that cost of ingredients and tedious preparation method were some of the reasons why this is not a common everyday dish; however, I believe that we can do something to ease the preparation part – this post and the accompanying video might come-in handy for everyone. As for the cost, there are several ways that we can do to control it. One way is to reuse the ingredients that we already have. You can make breadcrumbs out of leftover breads; use the unexpired cheese sitting in the fridge. Buying in bulk also saves you money. Who knows, maybe you can sell Hardinera to generate extra income. Can you suggest other ways to save money on ingredients?

An Improved Meatloaf Recipe

Are you looking for the best meatloaf recipe, but could not find one? I was looking for the same thing too, and I ended-up making a good enough meatloaf dish. Although the meatloaf that I made was good, I felt that it can use some more ingredients to make it better.

After a few months of experimenting and some tips from friends, I think that I was able to come-up with a meatloaf recipe that is like no other. I don’t want to speak for myself; it will be better if you’ll be the judge. Remember the burger steak recipe that we posted a few months ago? It was really good, isn’t it? Well, the idea came from that recipe. One ingredient that made the burger steak recipe stand-out was the onion soup mix.

Meatloaf can be considered as a comfort food depending on the person that is having it. If you consider meatloaf as your comfort food, you can enjoy it better by following our meatloaf recipe and adding a pouch of onion soup mix while mixing the ingredients. The onion soup mix provides additional flavor that collaborates well with the other ingredients.

Meatloaf Recipe

Meatloaf is a dish made from ground meat (usually combined ground beef and pork) and formed into a loaf. Aside from the meat, different vegetables and spices are added to provide additional flavor. This dish is typically baked but slow cooker and microwave oven are sometimes used.

Almost all the countries in the world have their own meatloaf variation (embutido is considered as the the local meatloaf of the Philippines). This recipe is one of the traditional one’s that is considered as one of the top comfort foods here in the Midwest.

Embutido Recipe

Embutido is a type of meatloaf prepared Filipino style. Though a well known dish for the holidays, Embutido can be enjoyed everyday without any hassle. Several meat processing companies now produce this meatloaf for commercial purposes; all you have to do is grab one from your favorite grocery store.

For those of you who want to enjoy the naturally prepared Embutido, this is the recipe to go for. My version (or should I say my Mom’s 🙂 ) focuses more on giving this dish the wonderful taste and aroma that can’t be found in commercialized Embutido. You can serve this as a cold cut or you can even fry it after steaming. Do whatever you want but don’t forget to put the Banana Catsup on the side.

Try this delicious Embutido recipe.
