Indulgent comfort food has managed to turn even the worst of days upside down. Sometimes you can’t help but want to treat yourself; give in to the simple joys of good food and good company. There are two components of this creamy chicken pasta dish that stand out above the rest, and these would be — to no one’s surprise — the chicken and the cream! Both the chicken and the pasta sauce itself have their own unique flavors that come together in perfect harmony. Don’t forget about your salty bacon, too; it arguably makes any dish you add it to even better! This pasta dish is a delicious medley of tastes that you’ll want to experience over and over again with every perfect bite. And even better, this whole dish consists of ingredients you can easily find in your pantry or at your local supermarket! All in all, this creamy chicken pasta recipe is perfect for those who want an easy, breezy comfort food fix.
Creamy Chicken Pasta with Bacon Ingredients
We’ll be using the easy and slightly healthier cut of chicken breast for our recipe today. Another reason we’re using chicken breast is that it’s much easier to eat, given that we’ll be getting boneless slices. Even better, chicken breast can easily absorb the flavors of the rub you’ll marinate your chicken in! Flavor is king, and there’s no doubt that this rub will be a great way to maximize on that deliciousness.
For your rub, you’ll need paprika, salt, and ground black pepper. Paprika’s mild yet smoky taste will mix perfectly with your chicken, and later on, with the rest of your pasta dish! Best to set your chicken aside for a while after you rub it to really let those flavors shine.
Next, your pasta sauce is the next portion of your dish with the most number of components! Some of these may seem like a strange combination, but this dynamic list of elements only makes your pasta sauce more unique, flavorful, and altogether yummy! Your creamy chicken pasta’s sauce will require Lady’s Choice Mayonnaise, vinegar, heavy cream, onion and garlic powder, and some salt and black pepper. This star combination will leave you wanting more!
And we can’t, of course, forget about the other components of this dish. From crispy bacon to bright and sweet tomatoes, crisp spinach to spicy red pepper flakes (if you choose to add it), this creamy chicken pasta dish ticks off every flavor on the list! All that’s left for you to do now is cook it. And trust us when we say that you’ll be enjoying your new pasta favorite in no time!
How to Cook Creamy Chicken Pasta with Bacon
We start with your chicken. Combine the chicken rub ingredients in a bowl, and mix them well. Rub them all over the chicken breast and allow it to marinate while you prepare the rest of your pasta. This will really allow you to have a chicken with flavor, both inside and out!
While letting your chicken marinate, prepare your pasta. Boil 4 cups of water in a cooking pot, and add a teaspoon of salt. Put your pasta in; you can use whatever kind of pasta you prefer. For this recipe in particular, I like to use penne. Cook according to the package instructions, then drain the pasta and set it aside. In a pan, cook your 5 strips of bacon until you’ve extracted the bacon oil and it gets as crispy as you like it. Remove the crispy bacon from the pan, but keep the bacon oil in.
Why, you might ask? Well, you’ll be using that bacon oil to now fry your chicken breasts! The recommended time for this is about 5 to 8 minutes per side. However, this depends on how thick your breasts are. Once they’re cooked all the way through, remove the chicken and let it cool before slicing it into serving pieces. Then, set it aside.
The next step is to make your creamy chicken pasta’s creamy dressing! Combine all your pasta dressing ingredients in a bowl and mix well, to allow all the flavors to blend with each other. Then, pour it all over your pasta in a mixing bowl before adding your tomato, spinach, chicken, bacon, and Parmesan cheese! If you like your pasta with a bit of spice, don’t be afraid to give it a sprinkle of pepper flakes, too. Last but certainly not least, mix all your ingredients, tossing them until you’ve distributed them to your liking.
Transfer your creamy chicken pasta to a bowl and dig into your easy, tasty, comfort food! Like this pasta recipe? Let us know what you think!
