Bacon and Spinach quiche balances smoky bacon and bright spinach in a custard base that’s perfect for enjoying warm or at room temperature. It’s a versatile dish that works beautifully with a simple side salad or a heartier meal. Here’s how you can make it at home.

Bacon and Spinach Quiche

What is Bacon and Spinach Quiche?

Bacon and Spinach Quiche is a savory baked pie made with a custard of beaten eggs and cream, combined with crispy bacon, fresh spinach, and cheddar cheese in a pastry shell. It is soft and rich inside, golden and firm on the outside, and perfect as an all-day dish.

Ingredients for Bacon and Spinach Quiche

  • Pastry dough: For lining a single-crust pie plate.
  • Eggs: The base of the creamy custard.
  • Heavy whipping cream: Adds richness and velvety texture.
  • Spinach: Adds bright color and freshness.
  • Bacon strips: Provides smoky, savory flavor.
  • Sharp cheddar cheese: Gives tang and gooey melt.
  • Salt: Enhances all the flavors.
  • Ground black pepper: Adds warmth and depth.

How to Cook Bacon and Spinach Quiche

  1. Preheat oven
Set the oven to 350°F to prepare for baking.
  2. Prepare the custard
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Layer the filling
Arrange chopped spinach, crumbled bacon, and grated cheddar inside the pastry-lined pie plate.
  4. Pour custard
Pour the egg mixture evenly over the filling.
  5. Bake
Place in the oven and bake for 40 to 50 minutes, until the top is golden and the center is set.
  6. Rest
Let the quiche cool for a few minutes to set properly.
  7. Slice and serve
Cut into wedges and serve warm or at room temperature.

Useful Tips

    • Cook the bacon until crispy to add texture.

    • Drain spinach well to prevent a soggy crust.

    • Use a blind-baked crust for a firmer bottom (optional).

    • Check doneness by gently jiggling the center—it should be set, not runny.
